Though naturally, like everybody else, I cannot, in good nature, bring myself to truly defend Kim's Wacky Misadventures (TM).
#24 season 2 on dvd tv#
Still a very good season of television, if you can fast-forward all of Kim's screen time (which is a LOT).Ī second season that, just the way a TV show should, improves itself, 24's sophomore outing has better writing, a more compelling story with fewer ass pulls (I sincerely doubt the twist from season 1's penultimate episode was planned from the beginning), tense scenes that show Jack Bauer outsmarting the bad guys (you guys told me he gets off on torturing them!) and great acting from everybody involved. WHAT?!? Sure, Elisha Cuthbert is hot, but I never thought she was the highlight of the show.Jack Bauer is! And honestly, the stakes and villain just don't feel as personal as the first season. BUT, the show suffers any time it focuses on Kim's subplot, which includes of course getting stalked by a cougar. Nina Myers and Sherry even return to cause some trouble, and it's fun to watch them mess with people. New characters like Michelle and Kate have great chemistry with Tony and Jack, respectively. In some ways, it's more thrilling on the action front, and maintains the suspense pretty well throughout.
Jack is more hardened and badass this time, immediately asking Mason for a hacksaw (probably his best quote). There is now trust between Palmer and Jack, and when the world faces another threat, the President stands his ground, even when his own staff is against him. The best thing about Season Two is how it builds on the strengths of the first season.
